About the work

Nora uses watercolour for the first broad movement and dry pastel for the marks that interrupt it. The blue and lilac fields are not a view of a particular sky; they come from the changing colour of the studio window over a winter afternoon. A small coral gesture keeps the image from becoming entirely weightless. The paper has a gentle tooth that remains visible in the finished work.
