Stone Passage

About the work

A narrow passage gives Milo a way to consider how a painting can lead the eye without a person in it. The doorway is almost the same colour as its shadow; the pale wall is made from several transparent washes. Small pencil lines keep the architecture legible while leaving the place open to interpretation. This is an invented street built from sketches made in several towns.
