Theo Moss

Sculptor

“The empty part of a sculpture can be its strongest shape.”

Studio practice

Theo carves stone into forms that invite movement around them. He works mainly in travertine and limestone, allowing the natural pores and small variations of the material to remain visible after honing.

At Oriel

His studio process begins with folded paper and clay studies, then slows as the form moves into stone. A finished piece is considered from every side, including the shadows it casts and the small opening through which light can pass.
